4‑Day Banyuwangi Adventure: Baluran Safari, Ijen Crater & Menjangan Island

Day 1 – Arrival in Banyuwangi & Baluran National Park Safari

• 10:00 – Airport Pick‑Up Upon arrival at Banyuwangi Airport (BWX), meet your driver and guide. Begin a scenic ±2‑hour drive toward Baluran National Park, passing through small towns and coastal roads. Guests may stop briefly in Wongsorejo or Situbondo for snacks or an early lunch before entering the park.
• 12:00 – Bekol Savanna Exploration Arrive at Bekol Savanna, famously called the “Africa van Java.” Wide grasslands stretch out with Mount Baluran in the background. Guests can walk or drive through the savanna to spot banteng, deer, monkeys, and peacocks. The open landscape makes wildlife viewing easy and creates a safari‑like atmosphere.
• 14:30 – Bama Beach Visit Continue deeper into the park toward Bama Beach. This coastal area is framed by mangrove forests and calm waters. Guests can stroll along the mangrove boardwalk, enjoy the sea breeze, and watch for birds and small marine creatures. The peaceful setting contrasts beautifully with the dry savanna.
• 16:00 – Wrap Up Safari Conclude exploration and head back toward the park entrance.
• 16:30–18:30 – Return to Banyuwangi Drive back to Banyuwangi town, passing rural landscapes and coastal scenery.
• 19:00 – Dinner & Overnight Rest Arrive in Banyuwangi for dinner, with options to try local East Javanese dishes such as sego tempong or pecel pitik. Overnight rest at hotel.

Day 2 – Midnight Ijen Crater Trek & Sunset at Muncar Harbor

• 00:00 – Depart for Ijen Crater Leave the hotel at midnight for the legendary Ijen Crater. The drive to Paltuding base camp takes about 1.5 hours, winding through forested mountain roads under the night sky.
• 01:30–03:30 – Trek to Crater Rim Begin the uphill trek to the crater rim. The hike takes 1.5–2 hours on a steady incline. Guests walk under the stars, guided by flashlights, with cool mountain air surrounding them.
• 03:30–05:00 – Blue Fire Phenomenon At the crater rim, witness the famous blue fire, a rare natural glow caused by burning sulfur gases. This phenomenon is best seen before dawn and is one of the highlights of East Java.
• 05:30–06:30 – Sunrise at Crater Lake As dawn breaks, the turquoise crater lake is revealed, surrounded by dramatic volcanic cliffs. The sunrise paints the sky in shades of orange and pink, making the view unforgettable.
• 07:00–08:30 – Descent & Short Rest at Base Camp Begin the trek back down to Paltuding base camp. The descent takes about 1.5 hours. Once back at the base, guests can enjoy a short rest, warm drinks, and recovery before continuing.
• 08:30–10:30 – Transfer to Hotel Drive ±2 hours back to Banyuwangi. Guests can rest in the vehicle and enjoy mountain scenery during the journey.
• 10:30–14:30 – Free Time & Rest at Hotel Full rest at hotel after the demanding hike. Guests can sleep, relax, or enjoy hotel facilities such as the pool or spa.
• 15:00 – Depart for Muncar Harbor In the afternoon, drive ±1 hour to Muncar Harbor, one of East Java’s largest fishing ports.
• 16:00–18:00 – Sunset at Muncar Harbor As the sun sets, the harbor comes alive with activity. Fishermen return with their catch, and rows of traditional fishing boats (perahu) line the docks. The sky glows orange and pink, reflecting off the water and boats. Guests can walk along the harbor, observe daily life, and capture atmospheric photos of the colorful boats against the evening sky.
• 18:30–19:30 – Dinner & Return Enjoy fresh seafood at local warungs near Muncar or head back to Banyuwangi for dinner. Overnight rest at hotel.

Day 3 – Menjangan Island Snorkeling & Banyuwangi Souvenir Shopping

• 07:00 – Breakfast at Hotel Start the day with a relaxed breakfast before departure.
• 08:00 – Drive to Grand Watudodol Jetty Scenic ±1‑hour drive along Banyuwangi’s coastline with views of the Bali Strait.
• 09:00–09:30 – Boat to Menjangan Island Board a boat for Menjangan Island. The crossing takes about 30 minutes, offering views of Bali’s mountains across the strait.
• 09:30–11:30 – Snorkeling & Light Trekking Spend two hours snorkeling or diving among vibrant coral reefs filled with tropical fish. The clear waters make it easy to see marine life. Guests can also take a short trek to visit small temples and viewpoints on the island, adding a cultural touch to the marine adventure.
• 11:30–12:00 – Return Boat Ride Cross back to Banyuwangi side.
• 12:00–13:00 – Hotel Rest Return to hotel for a short rest and refresh.
• 14:00–16:00 – Souvenir & Snack Shopping In the afternoon, explore Banyuwangi’s cultural shops. Visit Osing Deles or Sun Osing to browse batik, bamboo crafts, and handmade souvenirs. Guests can also pick up local snacks such as bagiak, selai pisang, and kue cucur, which are popular gifts and travel treats.
• 16:30 onwards – Free Time & Overnight Rest Return to hotel for leisure time and overnight stay.

Day 4 – Free Time, Check‑Out & Departure

• 07:00–09:00 – Breakfast at Hotel Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and relax in the morning. Guests can take a swim, stroll in the garden, or simply rest in their rooms.
• 09:00–11:00 – Free Time Time for packing, resting, or a short walk nearby. This is a calm morning designed to let guests recover after three active days.
• 11:00 – Hotel Check‑Out Prepare luggage and settle bills before departure.
• 11:00–11:30 – Transfer to Banyuwangi Airport Drive ±30–45 minutes to BWX.
• 12:00 onwards – Arrival at Airport Arrive in time for check‑in and onward flights.

• Baluran National Park (Bekol Savanna & Bama Beach)
  Known as the “Africa van Java,” Baluran offers vast grasslands where wildlife like banteng, deer, and peacocks roam freely. The journey continues to Bama Beach, a coastal area framed by mangroves, perfect for birdwatching and enjoying the sea breeze.
• Ijen Crater (Blue Fire & Sunrise Lake View)
  A midnight trek leads to the rim of Ijen Volcano, where guests witness the rare blue fire phenomenon before dawn. As the sun rises, the turquoise crater lake reveals its dramatic beauty, surrounded by volcanic cliffs.
• Muncar Harbor (Sunset & Fishing Port Atmosphere)
  One of East Java’s largest fishing ports, Muncar comes alive at sunset. Traditional boats line the harbor as fishermen return with their catch, creating a vibrant cultural scene and stunning photo opportunities.
• Menjangan Island (Snorkeling, Coral Reefs & Temples)
  A short boat ride across the Bali Strait brings guests to Menjangan Island. Clear waters and colorful coral reefs make it ideal for snorkeling, while light trekking reveals ancient temples and panoramic coastal views.

• Comfortable trekking shoes – sturdy grip for Ijen’s rocky paths.
• Warm jacket & layers – midnight temperatures at Ijen can drop below 10°C.
• Light, breathable clothing – for Baluran safari and Menjangan island activities.
• Swimwear & quick‑dry towel – snorkeling at Menjangan Island.

• Head lamp – essential for the midnight trek at Ijen Crater.

• Wildlife Encounters – Baluran National Park is home to free‑roaming animals; sightings are possible but not guaranteed.
• Sun Exposure – Baluran and Menjangan can be very hot; sunscreen, hats, and hydration are important.
• Snorkeling Conditions – Menjangan Island offers clear waters but currents can vary; snorkeling gear and life jackets are provided.
• Local Culture – Muncar Harbor is a working fishing port; expect authentic sights, sounds, and smells.
• Cash Payments – Many local warungs and souvenir shops do not accept cards; bring cash in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR).
• Travel Times – Transfers between attractions can take 1–2 hours; enjoy scenic drives and be patient with traffic.
• Rest Balance – The itinerary includes free time to recover after demanding activities, especially post‑Ijen trek.
• Optional Add‑Ons – Guide services, hotels, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are not included by default but can be added when filling out the booking form.
• Mandatory Health Certificate – Trekking at Ijen Crater requires a valid health certificate. This is mandatory and already included in the package.
• Hotel Room Occupancy – Rooms are arranged for 2 guests per room; if participants are odd in number, one extra bed will be added into a room.
• Booking Requirements – Advance booking at least 7 days before departure is required, with a minimum of 2 participants (2 pax).
• International Tourist Entrance Fees: Please note that the stated prices do not include the additional entrance fee for international tourists. This fee is regulated by local authorities and must be paid separately. Guests should ensure they account for this extra charge when completing their booking.

• International Ticket for Weekend, National Holidays and High Seasons: Rp690.000

• Each attraction ticket is valid for 1 time use in a day per person.
• Children (2-5) years old Non-Indonesian ID Card Holder are also subject for this additional fee.
