Tour Plan
11:00 We will pick up you at your hotel or any places inside Probolinggo city, take simple introduction with our crew and short brief of the tour. And then driving to Sempol village at the foot of Mt. Ijen, it takes around 5 hours drive.
16:00 Arrived at Sempol village, check in hotel and free time.
19:00 Dinner at local restaurant and then free time and overnight.
00:30 We will start this tour, We will head toward Paltuding, it is a main base camp for Ijen crater trekking.
01:00 We will arrive at Paltuding camp at the foot of Mt. Ijen. Take a short rest while arrange the administration entrance for you.
01:30 Start trekking to the crater of Ijen, it takes around 1,5-2 hours depend your stamina and power, during this ascent, we will meet with many traditional miners are starting they daily job. You can make a conversation with them and get to know their life.
03:30 From the crater rim, we should get down into the crater, this is the only way to see the blue fire. Then enjoy the amazing blue fire of Ijen, you can also watch traditional miners are taking sulfurs and carry it in their bamboo basket. The blue fire will also start to fade along with the sun shine.
05:00 Trekking up to the crater rim and then continue going back down to Paltuding, it will be much shorter when you do trekking down.
06:00 Rest and breakfast at Paltuding.
08:00 Transfer back to Probolinggo it takes around 5 hours drive.
13:00 Finish the tour in Probolinggo.

Great adventure! Starting from Probolinggo, the trip was well organized. The hike to Ijen was tough but manageable, and the view at the top made it all worth it. Blue flames were amazing, and the turquoise crater lake looked unreal in the morning light. Only downside was the sulfur smell, but that’s part of the experience.
