Day 1 – Malang/Batu to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall

07:00 – Pickup in Malang/Batu Our team greets you at your hotel or train station in Malang/Batu. After a warm welcome and a short trip briefing, we begin the drive south toward Lumajang. The route passes through rice terraces, small villages, and volcanic slopes, offering a glimpse of East Java’s rural charm and daily life.
07:00–09:00 – Drive to Tumpak Sewu via Semeru route Enjoy a scenic 2‑hour journey through East Java’s countryside. Along the way, you’ll see tropical forests, terraced farms, and occasional views of Mount Semeru—the tallest volcano in Java—rising majestically above the horizon. This drive sets the tone for the adventure ahead.
09:00 – Arrival at Tumpak Sewu main gate Upon arrival, prepare for a short descent via stairway and jungle paths leading to the panoramic viewpoint. The trail is natural but manageable, giving you the first taste of the lush environment surrounding the waterfall.
09:15–10:00 – Panoramic view of Tumpak Sewu From the elevated viewpoint, admire the breathtaking curtain‑like cascade plunging 120 meters into a deep ravine. Framed by volcanic cliffs and dense greenery, this is one of Indonesia’s most photogenic waterfalls—perfect for panoramic photography and scenic appreciation.
10:00–11:30 – Trekking to the base of the waterfall For those seeking deeper immersion, join a guided trek down into the ravine. The trail includes bamboo ladders, shallow streams, and slippery rocks, making the descent both thrilling and rewarding. At the base, you’ll stand directly in front of the roaring cascade, surrounded by mist and echoing water—a raw encounter with nature’s power.
11:30–12:00 – Return & refresh Ascend back to the parking area, where you can rest, enjoy light snacks, and rehydrate. This short break allows you to reflect on the adventure before continuing the journey.
12:00–14:00 – Transfer to hotel near Probolinggo We drive north toward Probolinggo, passing through rural landscapes and small towns. This location is chosen for its convenience, ensuring easy access to Mount Bromo for the sunrise experience the next morning.
14:00 – Hotel check‑in & rest Arrive at your hotel and settle in for the evening. Dinner is available at the hotel or nearby restaurants (optional). Rest well, as your Bromo sunrise adventure begins before dawn.

Day 2 – Bromo Sunrise, Crater Trek & Return to Malang/Batu

02:00 – Depart hotel by 4WD Jeep Begin your pre‑dawn adventure with a Jeep ride across volcanic terrain. The 1–1.5 hour drive takes you through the quiet Sea of Sands toward Penanjakan viewpoint, the best spot to witness Bromo’s sunrise.
03:30–05:30 – Sunrise at Mount Bromo As the sky glows with the first light, watch the dramatic landscape transform. Mount Bromo’s smoking crater, the vast Sea of Sands, and Mount Semeru in the background create one of Indonesia’s most iconic sunrise scenes. Capture stunning photos and soak in the serene atmosphere.
06:00 – Jeep ride to Sea of Sands & Poten Temple Descend into the caldera and stop at Poten Temple, a sacred Hindu site used for the annual Yadnya Kasada ceremony. Learn about its cultural significance while admiring the temple’s unique setting in the middle of the volcanic desert.
06:30–08:00 – Trekking to Mount Bromo Crater Rim Cross the Sea of Sands on foot or horseback, then climb the stairway to the crater rim. Feel the heat, hear the rumble, and take in panoramic views from the edge of this active volcano. Standing at the rim is a thrilling highlight of the tour.
08:00–08:30 – Visit Whispering Sands (Pasir Berbisik) After the crater trek, explore the Whispering Sands—an otherworldly volcanic desert where the wind creates soft, whisper‑like sounds across the ash plains. This surreal landscape is perfect for photos and reflection before heading back.
09:00 – Return to hotel for breakfast Head back to your hotel for a hearty breakfast and fresh coffee, recharging after the morning’s adventure.
10:00 – Hotel checkout & transfer Pack up and prepare for the return journey to Malang/Batu. Our crew ensures a smooth checkout and comfortable transfer.
10:00–12:00 – Drive back to Malang/Batu Enjoy the scenic drive back, arriving by midday. Drop‑off is available at your hotel or train station, concluding your unforgettable 2‑day East Java journey.

• Daily Availability & Booking Deadline This tour operates every day with a minimum of 2 participants. Booking must be completed at least 3 days before departure to ensure hotel and Jeep availability.
• Physical Fitness Required This tour involves moderate to strenuous trekking. It is not recommended for guests over 65 years old or those with physical disabilities, especially due to the steep descent and river crossings at Tumpak Sewu.
• Dry Season is Best (May–October) The ideal time to enjoy both Tumpak Sewu and Bromo is during the dry season, when trails are safer and views are clearer. During December–March, you may still visit the panorama viewpoint, but trekking to the base is discouraged due to flash flood risks from sudden rain.
• Tumpak Sewu Base Trek is Optional The standard tour includes the panoramic viewpoint only. If you wish to trek down to the waterfall base, this requires an optional addon fee and involves a 30–40 minute descent over 800 meters of stairs, rocky paths, and shallow river crossings. The trail also passes Goa Tetes Waterfall.
• Bromo Sunrise Starts Early On Day 2, the Bromo sunrise tour begins at 02:00. Be prepared for cold temperatures (5–10°C) and pre-dawn travel by Jeep to Penanjakan viewpoint.
• Hotel Room Policy Accommodation is based on twin-sharing (1 room for 2 persons). If your group has an odd number of participants, an extra bed will be added to one of the rooms.
• International Tourist Fee The stated tour fare does not include the additional entrance fee required for international tourists at Bromo and Tumpak Sewu. This fee must be added during booking.
• You Will Get Wet If you opt for the Tumpak Sewu base trek, expect to get wet. Waterproof shoes, quick-dry clothing, and a change of clothes are highly recommended.
• Local Conditions May Affect Timing Road traffic, weather, and volcanic activity may impact the itinerary. Our crew will adjust as needed to ensure safety and experience quality.
• Private Tour Format This is a private tour with personalized pickup and flexible pacing. No group sharing unless requested.
