Overview

This trip begins at Pasar Turi Train Station, Surabaya in the early morning. From Surabaya, participants will enjoy a city tour, continue to Madakaripura Waterfall, and then explore Mount Bromo with its famous sunrise. The program ends back in Surabaya before returning home.

Surabaya – City of Heroes

Surabaya, Indonesia’s second largest city and capital of East Java, is known as the City of Heroes for its pivotal role in the nation’s independence struggle. Today, it blends modern progress with historical heritage. Highlights include the Heroes Monument, Gunung Anyar Mangrove Conservation Area, Kenjeran Park, and vibrant shopping centers.

Mangrove Tour – Gunung Anyar

The Gunung Anyar Mangrove Conservation Area offers a relaxing eco‑tour. Guests walk along wooden boardwalks through lush mangrove forests, learn about coastal ecosystems, and enjoy fresh sea breezes. Managed by local communities, this tour supports conservation and provides a unique nature experience.

Mount Bromo

Located within the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, Mount Bromo is one of Indonesia’s most iconic volcanoes. Visitors travel by Jeep Hardtop to Penanjakan viewpoint for the legendary sunrise over the crater, Sea of Sand, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru. Guests also explore the Teletubbies Hill savanna and visit Pura Luhur Poten, a temple used for Tenggerese ceremonies.

Madakaripura Waterfall

Just 45 minutes from Bromo lies Madakaripura Waterfall, a towering cascade steeped in history as the hermitage of Gajah Mada, the great prime minister of the Majapahit Kingdom. Reaching the falls requires a 20‑minute walk through moss‑covered cliffs. The area is wet and slippery, so sturdy shoes are recommended.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Surabaya City Tour & Madakaripura Waterfall (B|L|D)

  • 06:00 – Meeting point at Pasar Turi Station, Surabaya. Breakfast.
  • 07:00–11:00 – Surabaya City Tour: Heroes Monument, Heroes Museum, Mangrove Tour in Gunung Anyar, optional Kenjeran Park.
  • 11:00–15:00 – Drive to Bromo via Probolinggo, lunch en route.
  • 15:00–17:00 – Visit Madakaripura Waterfall, explore historic site.
  • 17:30 – Check in at hotel near Bromo, rest.
  • 19:00 – Dinner at local restaurant, free evening.

Day 2 – Mount Bromo Exploration (B)

  • 02:00 – Wake up call.
  • 02:30–03:30 – Jeep ride to Penanjakan viewpoint.
  • 03:30–06:00 – Sunrise at Mount Bromo, panoramic views of Sea of Sand and surrounding peaks.
  • 06:30–08:00 – Visit Teletubbies Hill savanna.
  • 08:00–10:00 – Return to hotel, breakfast, free time.
  • 10:00–14:00 – Check out, drive back to Surabaya. Trip concludes.
