What to do if you have 1 or 2 days in Surabaya

The Best Choice tour Surabaya

Bromo is the most scenic destination in East Java, characterized by its beautiful sunrise and dramatic mountainous terrain. The gray volcano-capped peaks, caves, and picturesque mountains have inspired authors including 5cm about Mount Semeru.

Spend 5 days in this gorgeous National Park, and you’ll never run out of things to see and do. If you only have a couple of days, make sure you don’t miss these sights and activities.

1 DAY IN Surabaya | THE MUST-DO’S

With its local houses, mountainous terrain, and surrounding clouds, Bromo boasts everything you’d expect from a village in East Java. It’s renowned for its welcoming people, unique boutique shops, and frequent excursions to nearby trails and activities ranging from bike and hikes to horse rides.

Your first mission has to be to visit some of the area’s sunrise spots. Some mountains have carved National Parks through mountains as high as more than 3000 meters above sea level. The most famous sunrise spot view in Surabaya, however, are the Pananjakan 1 and 2.

Usually, the more challenging the hike, the more rewarding the view. But you can expect to be mesmerized by picturesque villages, volcano craters and some of the most scenic natural sights in Java regardless of which trail you choose.

The Madakaripura waterfall

The Madakaripura Waterfall cascades from a height of nearly 100 meters, making them visible from almost 1 km within the village. Most of the water turns to mist before reaching ground level, adding to the mysterious allure of this natural attraction. The falls are covered by higher ground and forest, making for a magical view in the afternoon.

From Bromo Crater, you can take the chance to meander over 30 minutes ground-level. Most trails take between 1 and two hours to complete. You can trek as far as the local build road to reach to lips of the cliff and waterfall.

If you have only one day to spend in Surabaya, make it a hiking day. You won’t regret it.

IF YOU HAVE MORE TIME | LOCAL EXPERIENCES

Even when you’ve walked ‘til your heart’s content, there’s still loads to do in Surabaya. Fans of city history shouldn’t miss the opportunity to have a bite at local cuisine in Hotel Majapahit, which is featured in ‘Colonial Style Building’s Secret Service. It’s located in the most historical building in Surabaya, offering the best experience of early 19’s century taste.

After lunch, make your way over to Surabaya Hero Monument. This incredible Surabaya memoir of the war appears as Indonesia fought against colonialism. Take a free guided tour around the area, and you’ll see why they inspired Indonesian youngsters in the future. The museum is relatively small, making them an excellent place to visit if you have just a couple of hours in Surabaya. Try the local coffee Java Arabica pastries to re-energize after touring this monument.

Adventure sports are a huge draw for visitors to Surabaya. Do you prefer rafting or Karapan Sapi or cow race performance (only in the season)? Or, would you rather glide over and around them? Some of the more popular activities are Snorkeling and windsurfing. If you’re short on time, take a 40-minute windsurfing tour from the legend of Surabaya in Kenjeran. Have several hours to spare? Half and full-day excursions depart from Surabaya and Madura.

If you haven’t yet planned your trip to the East Java, make sure you take a look at our online Surabaya and Bromo to customize your ultimate Surabaya trip. It’s the easiest way to plan and book a trip and visit some of Surabaya’s best locations.

[:en]Bali Is A Budget-Friendly Destination world best Destination 2018[:id]Why The Bali Is A Budget-Friendly Destination[:]

Why The Bali Is A Budget-Friendly Destination

Are you looking for a travel destination where you could indulge yourself with the wonders of nature? the warmth of the sun while you enjoy the sand and the sea, or with cheap thrills, Bali is the perfect getaway for these types of adventures It is heaven for people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city without having to spend a fortune.

Every day is Sunday in Bali

Every day is Sunday in Bali – this is the Island’s slogan for their tourism campaign, most widely spread by the beach boys around the town. It’s a very catchy phrase that the Bali island could easily live up to due to its abundance of natural beauty and its low cost of living. If you’re on a tight budget and you badly need to have a getaway, you will get more than your money’s worth here.

Food

The Bali is the only Hindu island in Indonesia means their food choices aren’t just limited Balinese cook and western food, since a lot of Balinese and most people out of Bali such workers, and tourist required is to halal delicacies, some restaurant focus to serve halal food, aside from the fact that their food is also cheap. A sumptuous meal at a regular restaurant would only cost you $2 at the most and dining at a posh restaurant would just cost you $5 for a full meal with sides and drinks. Not only will your soul be filled with wanderlust, but your tummy will also be satisfied with the Bali island’s sumptuous delicacies.

Attractions

Local attractions are mostly open parks, gardens, mountains, cultural sites, waterfalls, underwater, and beaches, which means there’s really nothing for you to spend on to enjoy their attractions. Unless you intentionally go to their theme parks which are not what the Bali island is famous for.

Beaches

The Bali island is so blessed with beautiful beaches. There are many open resorts that you could head on to if you don’t want to spend a dime enjoying their beaches. If you want to party by the beach, you can travel to “Nusa Penida,” but if you prefer a more laid back beach experience, Kuta, Canggu, and Sanur offer the best beaches and resorts for this experience. And again, they’re all very cheap.

Transportation

Getting around is very easy. Their motorbike and online car are more efficient than buses and they could literally take you from point a to point b easily. And, sometimes, the online cab could even take you to the doorsteps of malls, literally. What’s great about it is that it’ also very cheap: $1-2 for a one-way fare to nearby places, while $5 for those that are a bit far. But their taxis are not cheap, $7 could already take you very far, literally.

Accommodation

Perhaps this is the cheapest destination for such a beautiful Bali island where you could enjoy an extended vacation experience, even hotels here will provide you a pampering experience for a very affordable price. A night at a 4-star hotel in Bali would just cost you around $30 to $50. If you’re backpacking you could just imagine how cheap it is to just rent a bed at a hostel for a night.

Aside from the abundance of nature-centric attraction, taking into the equation the cost of living in the Bali, budget traveler or not, you’ll surely have more fun here than elsewhere.

[:en]A Guide to Know Before Doing Fun Dives in Kuta Lombok[:id]A Guide to Fun Dives in Kuta Lombok[:]

[:en][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Free diving in Wakatobi
Freediving as an alternative

Scuba diving is a great hobby; nothing is more amazing than going from country to country exploring the unique dive sites and swimming alongside the different marine life that each country offers.
If you’ve been diving for a long time, it can be rather hard to find new places that you haven’t explored and though going back to a diving site you’ve dived at before can provide a good time, it won’t give you that thrill you get from exploring the un-dived territory.

One place I’m sure you’ve not had the pleasure of visiting is Kuta Lombok.

Kuta Lombok

Kuta is a coastal town found in the South of Lombok in Indonesia and is a town that is popular with the surfers due to its fantastic beaches and excellent wave breaks but isn’t well known among divers but soon will be due to its unspoiled reefs and rich marine life.
The people of Kuta are a friendly bunch of people who have remained unaffected by tourism and still live in the traditional way of a sleepy fishing village. The Kuta locals live in housing clusters called kampungs and cook their food over a wood fire.
Not only are the dive sites great but Kuta also has some of the best beaches in the whole of Indonesia if not in the whole world, with its pure white sand and crystal clear oceans, it’s the kind of beaches that photographers dream of.

Key Dive Sites
Some of the dive sites you will have the chance of visiting while staying in Kuta include:

The Cathedral – A site for only the experienced diver. It’s a large pinnacle that goes down to about 50 meters and has a steep wall that is covered with Sponges, Soft Corals, and Tunicates. You will find the bigger marine animals here such as Tuna, Barracudas, Eagle Rays and Grey Reef Sharks.

Gerupuk Bay – This site is a wall that goes down 30 meters deep and is overgrown by amazing hard corals and there are a number of crevices and niches where you can find things such as Crabs and Lobsters. Apart from Crabs and Lobsters, you will also see Tuna, Stingrays, Sweet Lips and Parrotfishes.

Gili Medas – A beautiful reef that has a wide range of reef animals such as Sweet Lips, Nudibranchs and Lionfish. This dive starts at 13 meters and reaches a depth of 34 meters and apart from the reef animals that have already been mentioned you will also see Mackerel, Barracudas, Surgeonfishes and Eagle Rays.

Boulder City – Made up of a number of big rocks that come together to form hundreds of swim troughs, this diving site will allow you to see Sharks, Angelfishes, Sweet Lips, and Napoleon fishes.
The above dive sites are only a few of the many sites you’ll have a chance to visit. Other sites you’ll get to visit include Gili Srang, The Magnet, JJR, and Coral Garden.

When you’re not diving there are a number of other things you can do like renting a motorbike and exploring the coastline, relaxing on the beautiful beaches or going on a tour of the village with a local guide.

Reaching Kuta isn’t difficult and is only a 20-minute drive from Lombok International Airport or if you’ve traveled by sea, it’s only an hour drive away from Lembar harbor.
If you are looking for your next diving destination then Kuta Lombok should be at the top of your list. Not only does it have a wide range of diving sites each of which provides a unique diving experience but it also has friendly locals, amazing beaches, great accommodation for all budgets, excellent food and gives you the ability to become one of the privileged few to have taken in its amazing scenery first hand.

Diving In Indonesia is The Capital Diving Centre of the World

[:en]

Indonesia is the place to be if you want to go scuba diving.

The place boasts of being one of the top scuba diving destinations in the whole world. The reason behind this is that it has around 20 percent of the worlds coral reefs nestled deep within its waters. Indonesia is made up of many islands, with the number reaching to 13,000 that are both occupied and deserted.
It also boasts of the longest coastline of a country in comparison to the whole world. Having said this, it is only natural that to get the maximum scuba diving experience, you will have to pay Indonesia a visit.

If you choose Indonesia as your scuba diving destination, you will be able to witness more than 3,000 types of fishes and 450 species of corals. Whether you are a casual diver or you do this for a living, you will find that scuba diving in Indonesia will give you one of the best experiences you can ever get. The volcanic underwater mountains and the macro life will take your breath away. There are nearly a thousand scuba diving sites scattered around the shores which give you plenty of areas to explore.
There are two most notable diving destinations in Indonesia. These are the Komodo and Bali.

Wakatobi –

This island has made it through so many features and is considered a wonder even explored in movies. This is a place of great diversity. Diving in Wangi-wangi, Kaledupa, Tomea and Binongko will bring you face to face with so many kinds of coral reefs of different colors and sizes. The shallow reefs are filled with marine life. If you are lucky or unlucky, depending on how you see it, you might even sport a shark or two.
Other sea life that you may see includes sunfish, clown frogfish, eagle rays, colorful sponges and blue-ringed octopus.

Freediving at Tomia - Wakatobi
Bali –

considered to be one of the most beautiful summer destinations in the whole world, Bali is as popular as a diving destination as much as it is popular as a beach destination. Shore-based diving is extremely popular in Bali if you are the more adventurous type.
Should you choose Bali, you will be delighted to find out that there are a lot of vertical drop-offs, coral ridges, seagrass beds and one of the worlds prized wrecks.
Scuba diving in Bali is available all year round but if you want to get the special treatment, the best time to go diving in Bali is around April through December. The thing is, if it is raining, you would not be able to see as much underwater. However, if you want to see certain marine life like sunfish or sharks then your best bet would be to go from June to September.

Diving in Indonesia cannot be matched by any other destination. The diversity and beauty of Indonesia paired with the unbelievably abundant choices for drop-offs, scuba diving in Indonesia will be an experience you will never forget.

Slap bang in the middle of the ‘Coral Triangle’ of diversity that extends from Australia to the Philippines and across to Borneo and into the South Pacific, Indonesia is generally accepted to be the world’s best country for sea life. Indonesia has more marine diversity than anywhere on earth and is at the core of the ocean’s heart, where the marine variety suggests life in the sea began.

With 20% of the world’s coral reefs, over 3,000 different species of fish and 600 coral species, deep water trenches, volcanic sea mounts, World War II wrecks, and an endless variety of macro life, scuba diving in Indonesia is both excellent and inexpensive.

You can dive here now and experience all the wondrous fish and other marine life in these nutrient-rich seas. From encounters with big pelagics around the cool waters of Komodo, cruising over pristine fields of coral in Raja Ampat, marveling at the enormous volumes of fish in the Banda Islands, to photographing the outrageous critters of Sulawesi, Indonesia diving is unsurpassable.

There are packages to suit all needs including resort diving in Bali and Sulawesi where you can stay in comfort on the doorstep of world-class dive sites where marine biologists, photographers and pleasure divers come to marvel and the species numbers and variety.
For many, diving is best on one of the liveaboards to Komodo and beyond, into the seemingly unchartered territory of Irian Jaya. These trips offer the chance to cruise over crystal seas from Bali to the legendary islands of Komodo and Rinca where the dragons of folklore roam. Beyond Komodo lies some of the most exhilarating frontier scuba diving there is, around the Banda Islands and Raja Ampat where there are few boats and only serious pleasure-seeking divers. Fantastic diving is virtually assured.
Highlights
Such a vast and varied destination as Indonesia is very difficult to limit to just a few highlights but any consideration of a dive holiday here should bear in mind at least the following areas:

Raja Ampat –

one of the few destinations left which truly allows you to feel like you are a pioneer – to boldly dive where no man has dived before. You can marvel at the incredible topside scenery of Irian Jaya, sail through waters where so few boats venture and experience some of the most impressive Indonesia scuba diving… and therefore the world. For those who want to get away from it all and dive in a remote paradise but not compromise on comfort then Raja Ampat liveaboards are the choice for you.

Komodo National Park –

the islands of myth and legend where dragons roam, are surrounded by rich nutrient-filled waters where a kaleidoscope of color and life awaits you. Mantas, dolphins, and sharks compete with critters galore, all against a riot of soft coral colors. Komodo liveaboard trips allow you to visit the many varied sites around this awesome marine park, some starting in Bali and visiting all the best sites along the way.

Travel Indonesia: Jakarta, Sumatra, and More

Read about the beauties and attractions of Indonesia, a country in South-East Asia, between two oceans. This country promises great experiences to people who are interested in exploring diverse landscapes and cultures. Indonesia is located in Southeast Asia.

The country is washed by the Pacific and the Indian Ocean and includes more than 17,500 islands. The nature of the archipelago is characterized by tropical rainforests, majestic volcanoes, and lagoons. Unique culture, national parks, nature reserves, and excellent resorts with lots of opportunities for rest make Indonesia a popular place for many travelers.

Jakarta is the capital and the largest city of Indonesia. Jakarta is situated on the northwest coast of Java and is known as the city with an original mixture of numerous buildings of the 17th-18th centuries, canals and multiple ‘national’ neighborhoods, each with a unique style. A paved area near Taman Kota Fatah, surrounded by old buildings overlooking the canal, is one of the centers of Batavia, the old part of the city which is often visited by organized groups of tourists. Nearby, the tourists will see the Jakarta History Museum in the former City Hall, an ancient gun as the symbol of an entire epoch, the Doll Museum, Chicken Market drawbridge erected in the 17th century, and the Bahari Museum with a lookout tower. Some more extravagant attractions of the capital include Sunda Kelapa, the old port, and the oldest temple of the city, Tszine-Yuan. The second most recognized tourist area is Medan Merdeka, known as Freedom Square, with a 132-meter National Monument.

Nearby one can find the National Museum of Indonesia with unique historical and ethnological collections, the Museum of National History and of Indonesian Culture. Of special interest is the impressive building of the presidential palace, the Maritime Museum, and Vilhelm church. Colonial past is perceived in the architecture of the Portuguese Church. One of the largest religious mosques in Southeast Asia is the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta. Shopping is offered in the bustling Mangadau shopping center and Glodok Bazaar. Cutting-edge business districts, the architecture of all styles, the famous zoo, water parks, cultural and entertainment complexes and the largest and most popular park in Jakarta, Jaya Ancol, contribute to the general tourist impression of the city.

Yogyakarta attracts the attention of tourists due to a huge palace complex of Sultan’s Kraton, numerous museums, and the exquisite temple complex Lara Jonggrang in the nearby Prambanan region. In the area of Surabaya, the capital of East Java, one will find the attractive temples of Malang district and Mount Bromo. In the south of the island, there is a sample of medieval Indonesian art, the ‘Temple of a Thousand Buddhas’ built in the 8th-9th centuries.

Bali Island is the most developed tourist area of Indonesia. Denpasar, the capital and the administrative center of the island, is a surprisingly quiet city filled with aromas of plants and unusual fresh air. Many small buildings of traditional architecture, quiet cozy streets, and the constantly shining sun give the city a special charm. Nearby, there is the international Ngurah Rai airport, the main transport hub of the island. ‘The Island of the Gods’ itself attracts tourists with its pristine landscapes, tropical rainforests and majestic volcanoes, blue lagoons and lush tropical jungle. As for man-made attractions, one can mention temples and superb resorts.

Bali is famous for the tolerant attitude of the local people towards the lifestyle of foreigners, so it surely makes this island a perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

Sumatra is often associated with the intense volcanic activity, hundreds of miles of beaches with dark sand and dozens of pristine mountain lakes. However, the region is also known for its turbulent historical past evidenced by the ruins of ancient temples and palaces. The most interesting places include Parapat luxury resort on the shores of the magnificent volcanic Lake Toba, the royal palace and the tombs of Samosir island, mosques, museums, a crocodile farm near Medan, and an orangutan rehabilitation center. In the northern part of Sumatra, one will find the largest reserve of the country, Gunung Leuser, where rare species of Sumatran rhinoceros, tigers, wild bulls, and orangutans are preserved.
