Day 1 – Surabaya to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall

07:00 – Pickup in Surabaya Our crew will meet you at your hotel, airport, or train station in Surabaya. After a warm welcome and short tour briefing, we begin the journey toward Lumajang, passing scenic landscapes and rural villages along the slopes of Mount Semeru.

07:30–13:00 – Drive to Tumpak Sewu via Mount Semeru route Enjoy a comfortable 5.5-hour drive through East Java’s countryside. Along the way, you’ll see terraced farms, tropical forests, and volcanic terrain, with occasional views of Mount Semeru’s peak.

13:00 – Arrival at Tumpak Sewu main gate Upon arrival, we prepare for a short descent via stairway to reach the panoramic viewpoint. The trail includes natural paths and steps, suitable for most fitness levels.

13:15–14:00 – Panoramic view of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall From the elevated viewpoint, admire the full grandeur of Tumpak Sewu—a 120-meter curtain-like cascade plunging into a lush ravine. This is one of the most photogenic waterfalls in Indonesia, framed by jungle and volcanic cliffs.

14:00–15:30 – Trekking to the base of the waterfall For those seeking deeper immersion, we begin a guided trek down into the ravine. The trail includes bamboo ladders, slippery rocks, and shallow river crossings—so prepare for wet shoes and thrilling terrain. At the base, you’ll stand directly in front of the roaring waterfall, surrounded by mist and echoing water. It’s a raw, unforgettable encounter with nature’s power.

15:30–16:00 – Return to parking area and refresh After the trek, we ascend back to the parking area and enjoy a short break. Water and light snacks are available.

16:00–19:00 – Transfer to hotel near Probolinggo We continue the journey north toward Probolinggo, where you’ll check in to a comfortable hotel. This location is ideal for accessing Mount Bromo early the next morning.

19:00 – Hotel check-in and rest Enjoy dinner at the hotel or nearby restaurant (optional). Rest well—your Bromo sunrise experience begins before dawn.

Day 2 – Bromo Sunrise & Return to Surabaya

02:00 – Depart hotel by 4WD Jeep to Penanjakan viewpoint Begin your pre-dawn adventure with a Jeep ride through the quiet volcanic terrain. The drive takes approximately 1.5 hours to reach Penanjakan, the best spot to witness Bromo’s sunrise.

03:30–05:30 – Sunrise at Mount Bromo As the sky begins to glow, watch the landscape transform. Mount Bromo’s smoking crater, the Sea of Sands, and Mount Semeru in the background create one of Indonesia’s most iconic sunrise scenes. Capture stunning photos and soak in the serene atmosphere.

06:00 – Return to hotel for breakfast After sunrise, we drive back to the hotel for a well-earned breakfast. Enjoy local dishes and fresh coffee while reflecting on the morning’s beauty.

09:30 – Hotel checkout and preparation for return Pack up and prepare for the journey back to Surabaya. Our crew ensures a smooth checkout and comfortable transfer.

10:00–13:00 – Drive to Surabaya The return trip takes approximately 3 hours. You’ll arrive in Surabaya by early afternoon, with drop-off available at your hotel, airport, or train station.

• Goa Tetes Waterfall & Cave Located near the base of Tumpak Sewu, Goa Tetes offers a mystical blend of dripping limestone formations, hidden caves, and gentle cascades. The trail leads through mossy rocks and narrow passages, making it a favorite spot for nature lovers and photographers seeking surreal textures and tranquil ambiance.
• Penanjakan Viewpoint – Mount Bromo Sunrise Witness one of Indonesia’s most legendary sunrises from this high-altitude lookout. Enjoy sweeping views of Mount Bromo’s crater, the Sea of Sands, and Mount Semeru glowing in the morning light.
• Sea of Sands – Bromo Tengger Caldera Traverse the vast volcanic desert surrounding Mount Bromo. This surreal ash-covered plain offers dramatic contrast to the surrounding peaks and is part of the larger Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
• Mount Bromo Crater Rim – Trekking Experience Trek across the Sea of Sands to reach the rim of Mount Bromo’s active crater. Feel the heat and hear the rumble as you take in panoramic views from the edge of this legendary volcano.
• Poten Temple – Cultural Sightseeing Located in the middle of the Sea of Sands, this sacred Hindu temple is used for the annual Yadnya Kasada ceremony. A spiritual landmark set against a dramatic volcanic backdrop.

• Warm jacket – Bromo sunrise temperatures can drop to 5–10°C
• Quick-dry clothes – Ideal for waterfall treks and humid conditions
• Extra socks & change of clothes – You’ll likely get wet at Tumpak Sewu base

• Daily Availability & Booking Deadline This tour operates every day with a minimum of 2 participants. Booking must be completed at least 3 days before departure to ensure hotel and Jeep availability.
• Physical Fitness Required This tour involves moderate to strenuous trekking. It is not recommended for guests over 65 years old or those with physical disabilities, especially due to the steep descent and river crossings at Tumpak Sewu.
• Dry Season is Best (May–October) The ideal time to enjoy both Tumpak Sewu and Bromo is during the dry season, when trails are safer and views are clearer. During December–March, you may still visit the panorama viewpoint, but trekking to the base is discouraged due to flash flood risks from sudden rain.
• Tumpak Sewu Base Trek is Optional The standard tour includes the panoramic viewpoint only. If you wish to trek down to the waterfall base, this requires an optional addon fee and involves a 30–40 minute descent over 800 meters of stairs, rocky paths, and shallow river crossings. The trail also passes Goa Tetes Waterfall.
• Bromo Sunrise Starts Early On Day 2, the Bromo sunrise tour begins at 02:00. Be prepared for cold temperatures (5–10°C) and pre-dawn travel by Jeep to Penanjakan viewpoint.
• Hotel Room Policy Accommodation is based on twin-sharing (1 room for 2 persons). If your group has an odd number of participants, an extra bed will be added to one of the rooms.
• International Tourist Fee The stated tour fare does not include the additional entrance fee required for international tourists at Bromo and Tumpak Sewu. This fee must be added during booking.
• You Will Get Wet If you opt for the Tumpak Sewu base trek, expect to get wet. Waterproof shoes, quick-dry clothing, and a change of clothes are highly recommended.
• Local Conditions May Affect Timing Road traffic, weather, and volcanic activity may impact the itinerary. Our crew will adjust as needed to ensure safety and experience quality.
• Private Tour Format This is a private tour with personalized pickup and flexible pacing. No group sharing unless requested.
