06:00 – Arrival at Jolotundo Basecamp (Trawas, Mojokerto)

• Register at the basecamp and stretch before the hike.
• Optional: brief visit to Candi Jolotundo, a sacred 10th-century bathing temple with natural spring water.
• Final gear check: hiking shoes, water (2L minimum), snacks, rain jacket, headlamp (just in case), and trekking poles.

06:30 – Begin Ascent via Jolotundo Trail

• Trail starts with gentle forest paths, gradually steepening.
• Along the way, pass ancient temple ruins like Candi Wayang, Candi Belahan, and Candi Sinta—remnants of Hindu-Buddhist kingdoms.
• The trail is shaded and serene, with occasional viewpoints overlooking the valley.

09:30 – Rest Stop at Candi Gentong (±1,400 mdpl)

• Take a break, hydrate, and enjoy the mystical ambiance of this secluded temple site.
• Great spot for photos and light snacks before the final push to the summit.

10:30 – Reach the Summit of Mount Penanggungan (1,653 mdpl)

• Celebrate your achievement with sweeping views of Mount Arjuno-Welirang, Mount Semeru, and the surrounding plains.
• Spend 30–45 minutes at the summit: take photos, meditate, or simply soak in the silence and fresh mountain air.

11:30 – Begin Descent via Tamiajeng Trail

• The descent is steeper but faster, with rocky sections requiring careful footing.
• Pass through more temple ruins like Candi Dermo and Candi Bayi, nestled in the forest.
• Optional: short detours to explore these sites if time and energy allow.

13:30 – Arrive at Tamiajeng Basecamp

14:30 – Lunch at Local Warung or PPLH Seloliman

15:30 – Return Drive to Surabaya

• Estimated arrival back in Surabaya: ±17:30 WIB.
• Optional stop for souvenirs or local snacks in Mojokerto (onde-onde, keripik tempe, etc.).
