Ijen Crater Blue Fire Midnight Trek – Shared Group Tour from Banyuwangi

11:00 PM – 1:00 AM: Hotel Pickup in Banyuwangi
We’ll pick up all tour participants from hotels around Banyuwangi city between 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM. Once everyone is on board, we’ll drive to Paltuding, the basecamp of Mount Ijen.

1:30 AM – 2:30 AM: Arrival & Rest at Paltuding
Arrive at Paltuding and take a short rest while we handle your entrance registration. Enjoy the cool mountain air and prepare for the trek.

2:30 AM – 4:30 AM: Trekking to Ijen Crater
Begin your guided midnight trek to Ijen Crater. The hike takes 1.5–2 hours depending on your pace. Along the way, meet local sulfur miners starting their daily work.

4:30 AM – 5:00 AM: Witness the Blue Fire
Reach the crater rim and descend into the caldera to witness Ijen’s famous blue fire—one of only two places in the world where this rare phenomenon occurs. Watch miners extract sulfur by torchlight as the flames dance in the dark.

5:00 AM – 6:00 AM: Sunrise & Crater Exploration
As daylight breaks, enjoy panoramic views of the turquoise acid lake and surrounding volcanic landscape. Capture stunning photos before trekking back up to the rim.

6:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Return Trek to Paltuding
Descend back to Paltuding—this downhill trek is faster and easier. Rest and refresh at the basecamp before departure.

8:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Transfer Back to Banyuwangi
We’ll drive you back to your hotel in Banyuwangi, concluding your unforgettable Ijen Blue Fire adventure.

• This is a shared group tour, meaning you'll join fellow travelers for a guided midnight adventure to Ijen Crater. We provide hotel pickup and drop-off for each participant within Banyuwangi city.
• The pickup process begins at 11:00 PM and continues until 1:00 AM. Depending on your hotel location, you may be picked up earlier or later—please be patient as we collect all guests. Once everyone is on board, we’ll transfer the group to Paltuding, the starting point for the Ijen trek.
• After the tour concludes, including the trek, blue fire viewing, and sunrise experience, we’ll return all participants to their respective hotels in Banyuwangi.

• Warm jacket or layers – Stay comfortable in chilly pre-dawn mountain temperatures.
• Trekking shoes with good grip – Essential for rocky and slippery terrain.
• Headlamp or flashlight – Crucial for navigating the dark trail before sunrise.
• Gas mask – Available on Rent, but bring your own for extra comfort near sulfur fumes.
• Water bottle – Hydrate during the 2-hour trek and crater exploration.
• Snacks or energy bars – Quick fuel for the hike and early morning energy.
• Raincoat or poncho – Be prepared for sudden mountain rain or mist.
• Camera or phone with flashlight – Capture the blue fire and crater views.
• Small backpack – Carry essentials without weighing yourself down.
• Cash – Handy for local purchases, tips, or emergency needs.

• Booking Deadline – Reservations must be completed at least 1 day before departure to secure your spot.
• Midnight Departure – Hotel pickup in Banyuwangi occurs between 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM; please be ready and rested.
• Variable Itinerary – Timing may shift based on pickup location, traffic, and local conditions—flexibility is key.
• Physical Fitness Required – The trek to the crater takes 1.5–2 hours uphill; moderate stamina is recommended.
• Blue Fire Visibility – Best seen before sunrise; visibility may vary due to weather or volcanic activity.
• Rainy Season Advisory – If traveling between December and May, bring a raincoat or umbrella for wet conditions.
• Cold Temperatures – Expect 8–15°C at night; the coldest months are June to October during the dry season.
• Gas Mask – Sulfur fumes are strong; masks are available on Rent, but you may bring your own for comfort.
• No Toilet on Trail – Facilities are only available at Paltuding basecamp.
• Children & Seniors – Not recommended due to steep terrain and exposure to sulfur gas.
• Camera Use – Low-light gear helps capture the blue fire; headlamps and flashlights are essential.
• Respect Local Miners – Feel free to observe and photograph, but always be courteous.
• International Ticket Policy – The Ijen Crater entrance fee for foreign passport holders is not included in the tour price and must be paid separately at the entrance gate or you can add it in booking form.

• Each attraction ticket is valid for 1 time use in a day per person.
• Children (2-5) years old Non-Indonesian ID Card Holder are also subject for this additional fee.
