08:00 AM – Arrive at Paltuding Basecamp We’ll reach Paltuding, nestled at the foot of Mount Ijen. Take a short break while we handle your entrance registration. Enjoy the cool mountain air and get ready for your guided trek.

08:30 AM – Start Trekking to Ijen Crater Begin the 3 km trek to the crater rim. The hike takes 1.5–2 hours depending on your pace. Along the way, you’ll encounter local sulfur miners starting their day—feel free to interact and learn about their unique work.

10:30 AM – Explore the Ijen Crater Rim Arrive at the edge of the vast caldera and take in the stunning views of the turquoise sulfur lake and volcanic terrain. If weather and safety permit, you may descend slightly to observe miners extracting sulfur with traditional tools.

11:30 AM – Descend to Paltuding Begin your descent back to Paltuding. The downhill trek is easier and quicker, giving you time to enjoy the scenery and reflect on the experience.

12:30 PM – Breakfast & Rest at Paltuding Enjoy a light breakfast and relax at the basecamp before the return journey to Banyuwangi.

01:00 PM – Drive Back to Banyuwangi We’ll transfer you back to your hotel or drop-off point in Banyuwangi. The drive takes around 2 hours through scenic highland landscapes.

• Rainy Season Advisory If you’re traveling between December and May, we strongly recommend bringing a raincoat or umbrella. Rain is common during these months and may affect trail conditions.
• Temperature & Seasonal Conditions Ijen’s night temperatures range from 8–15°C, warming slightly in the morning. The coldest months are June to October, so dress in layers and bring a jacket to stay comfortable.
• Moderate Trekking Required The trek to Ijen Crater involves a 3 km uphill hike on volcanic terrain. It’s suitable for active travelers with moderate fitness levels. Proper footwear is essential.
• Health & Age Restrictions This tour is not recommended for children under 7, seniors over 65, or anyone with physical disabilities, due to the challenging nature of the trek and sulfur exposure.
• Bring Your Own Lunch You’ll reach the crater around midday, so we recommend bringing a lunch box or snacks to stay energized. There are no food stalls at the crater rim.
• Flexible Itinerary The itinerary may change depending on weather, trail conditions, or safety concerns. Your guide will adjust the plan to ensure the best possible experience.
• Sulfur Fumes Protection Sulfur gases near the crater can be strong. Bring a mask or scarf to protect your nose and throat, especially if you plan to descend closer to the sulfur lake.
