Your adventure begins with a midnight pickup from your hotel or any location within Banyuwangi city. Meet our crew for a short tour briefing before departing to Paltuding, the base camp of Mount Ijen. The scenic drive takes approximately 2 hours depending on traffic. We recommend using this time to rest and recharge for the trek.

02:00 – Arrival at Paltuding Base Camp
Arrive at Paltuding, nestled at the foot of Mount Ijen. Take a short rest while we handle your entrance registration. Enjoy the cool mountain air and prepare for the hike ahead.

02:30 – Start Trekking to Ijen Crater
Begin your ascent to the crater rim, a 1.5–2 hour trek depending on your stamina. Along the trail, you’ll encounter traditional sulfur miners beginning their daily work. Feel free to engage in friendly conversation and learn about their unique lifestyle.

04:30 – Witness the Blue Fire Phenomenon
From the crater rim, descend into the heart of Ijen to witness the mesmerizing blue fire—visible only in the darkness before dawn. Watch miners extract sulfur and carry heavy loads in bamboo baskets. Capture this rare spectacle before the sunrise fades the flames.

05:30 – Return Trek to Paltuding
Climb back to the crater rim and descend to Paltuding. The downhill trek is shorter and offers stunning views of the surrounding volcanic landscape.

07:00 – Breakfast & Rest at Paltuding
Enjoy a well-deserved breakfast at Paltuding while resting your legs. Reflect on the incredible experience and take in the morning serenity of Mount Ijen.

08:00 – Transfer Back to Banyuwangi
Depart from Paltuding for the return journey to Banyuwangi. The drive takes approximately 2 hours, offering scenic views of East Java’s highlands.

10:00 – Tour Ends in Banyuwangi
Arrive back in Banyuwangi city. Your Ijen Crater Blue Fire tour concludes with unforgettable memories and stunning photos of one of Indonesia’s most iconic natural wonders.

• Warm Jacket, the temperature in Ijen at midnight ranges between 5-15 celcius degree
• Good shoe (trekking shoe is better)
• Head lamp, strongly recommended because this activity involve night trekking
• Gloves, required additionally to make your hands warm
• Camera, maybe you want to take picture during this trip
• Masker, you will need it to protect your breathing from the smoke
• Health Certificate, published either by local or international clinic.

• Health Certificate Requirement A valid health certificate is mandatory for hiking Mount Ijen. You may obtain this from a clinic in your home country or a local clinic in Indonesia. If you don’t have one, we can assist you in arranging it locally for an additional fee—details available in the booking form.
• Optional Local Guide Service This tour is self-guided by default. You may add a certified local guide during booking for enhanced safety and insight. Each guide can handle up to 4 participants. For groups smaller than 4, the guide may be shared with other travelers unless a private guide is requested.
• Foreign Tourist Entrance Fee International visitors are subject to an additional entrance ticket fee for Ijen Crater. Please refer to the booking form for current rates and payment details.
• Rainy Season Advisory If your tour departs between December and May, we strongly recommend bringing a raincoat. Weather conditions can be unpredictable during the rainy season.
• Temperature & Season Notes Mount Ijen’s temperatures range from 0°C to 10°C. The coldest months typically fall between May and September during the dry season. Please dress accordingly for early morning trekking.
• Booking Deadline All bookings must be completed at least 1 day prior to your scheduled departure to ensure proper preparation and permit processing.
• Flexible Itinerary Tour timing may vary based on your pickup location, traffic conditions, and other on-site factors. We strive to maintain the itinerary but appreciate your flexibility.

• International ticket: Rp155.000
• Each attraction ticket is valid for 1 time use in a day per person.
• Children (2-5) years old Non-Indonesian ID Card Holder are also subject for this additional fee.
